On May 2, 2024, Fès witnessed a stride in environmental conservation with the successful inauguration of the first Living Lab Sebou at the Ibis Hotel. This pivotal event, hosted by Living Planet Morocco in collaboration with Tour du Valat, the Sebou Hydraulic Basin Agency, and Mapping Technologies, marked a step forward in water resource management and the conservation of wetland ecosystems in the Sebou Basin.
The workshop brought together 30 influential stakeholders from various sectors to discuss pressing issues such as management, restoration, and governance of water resources. The day was filled with productive discussions and the co-creation of innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the health of local ecosystems and their capacity to provide vital services.
A highlight of the event was the introduction of the Sebou Water Fund Geoportal, an innovative tool designed to support informed decision-making and efficient management practices. This platform is expected to be a game-changer in the way water resources are managed in the region.
